Wire Sculpture Weekend
During this two day workshop, Priscilla Jones will teach the creative processes and techniques developed through her art work and experimentation. You will create your very own wire sculpture inspired by whatever theme you wish… using wire, wax and fabric. You will learn a range of processes including how to construct a wire structure that can be in 3D or 2D using light weight wire and then work into this by creating a surface to hand stitch and embellish with buttons, beads and trimmings. A materials will be provided all you need bring is enthusiasm.

Art on a Boat
Two day workshop aboard a classic 1940′s boat!
Lunch and Refreshments included a unique experience not to be missed!

10.00am – 6.00pm each day
Day 1
10 am meet on the boat in Henley for fresh coffee and croissants.
Sketchbooks and materials pack given out.
For half the day, Kirsten takes the group upstream on the boat, enjoying sketching on deck and in the wheelhouse. Kirsten leads a session on recording the day, sketching and painting as we move slowly along the river.
Moor in a beautiful spot for a delicious lunch and a glass of champagne.
The rest of the day is spent in Kirsten’s studio working with a wide selection of techniques and materials. Punctuated by great coffee and calorie free biscuits!
6pm review of the day.
Day 2
Ideas collected on day 1 are developed into a final piece. There will be the option of creating a painting on board or canvas. Ways to develop initial ideas are explored through taught sessions with Kirsten and Priscilla. Outcomes are reviewed at the end of the day and can then be framed for the wall!

Scrapbook & Journal Making

10.00-4.00pm
Spend the day learning how to create scrap-books and journals out of your old fabrics, scrap paper/card and haberdashery.
This is a great way to experiment with techniques such a stitch, collage and surface decoration to make something that is personal to you. We will explore the use of paints, inks and dyes to experiment with interesting effects on your sheets and these can be manipulated in different ways to enable you to create some stunning results.
Once your range of sheets are complete you start the exciting process of putting your papers and fabrics together and learn how to assemble them into the form of a book.
You can make any size of scrap-book you wish and create it for a special purpose either to keep all those important bits and bobs you can never find a place for, perhaps a sketch book, or maybe a photograph album the choice is yours….
