Wire Sculpture Workshop

Saturday 26th September  10:30 – 3:30pm

£50 per person + materials payable to the tutor on the day

Explore the vast possibilities of working with wire and create your own 3D sculptures inspired by any theme you wish. You will explore how to manipulate lightweight wire using your hands and pliers to make a range of examples. You will focus on developing your structures and other techniques and processes including fabric, paper, wax and paint. No experience necessary.

Please bring with you: Apron, old scissors or wire cutters, fabric scissors, pliers if you have them, and light weight fabrics such as silks (either habiti or chiffon work best and old silk scarves are good), hand sewing threads. Also bring an idea to work from, this could be just a theme. If you wish you can also bring the following: old broken jewellery, bits of ceramics, collected oddments from the beach, bits of metal, buttons, haberdashery, trimmings, beads, buttons.
Wire will be available at £2 per pack and silk at £3.50 per pack.

Please note that most classes are held in the Learning Loft on the third floor accessed by three flights of stairs. Plans are in place to improve disabled access to classes, however this is subject to funding.
