Using various fabrics, acrylic paints and machine stitch you will create a contemporary free machine embroidered hanging for your wall. During the 2 day course you will explore a range of techniques to enable you to produce a finished piece that is personal and will reflect your own ideas.
Day 1 – You will have a fun day experimenting with the possibilities of mixing media buy painting and printing on your fabrics ready to stitch together in your desired composition.Using various fabrics, acrylic paints and machine stitch you will create a contemporary free machine embroidered hanging for your wall. During the 2 day course you will explore a range of techniques to enable you to produce a finished piece that is personal and will reflect your own ideas.
Day 2 – Priscilla will guide you through the process of creating an image from your painted and printed fabrics – drawing on her vast experience of combining colour, shape and texture. She will then demonstrate the joy of drawing with stitch to embellish your creations and share tips on how machine embroidery can add new surface qualities to your textile art!
This is fantastic workshop for anyone who would like to explore a mixed media approach to stitched textiles and develop new ways of working. Some sewing experience would be an advantage but not necessary. Please bring your sewing machine with a free embroidery facility, plus a collection of fabrics you wish to work with. All other materials are provided in the course fee.

We are delighted to have our first group exhibition, as the Northern Collective, in the Circle Gallery at the prestigious Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, a cultural gem situated by the dramatic lakeside of Derwentwater.
The Northern Collective is made up of 16 artists from Cumbria and beyond regularly meeting to observe, be inspired by and make drawings in a variety of venues, ranging from Lake District landscapes to cultural sites such as Abbot Hall Gallery and Sprint Mill, Burneside and its unique collection of local memorabilia. The artists will showcase a rich diversity of themes and artistic processes including painting, printmaking, textiles, collage and assemblage. As well as expansive landscape forms, themes explored in the Northern Collective include plant structures, texture and surface markings, and flora and fauna found in the natural environment.

I’m thrilled to be returning for my 3rd art trail this year exhibiting at the Educational Institute in Arnside where I will be showing a range of embroidered textiles, limited edition prints and wire sculptures.
Get involved with our instillation this year – ‘MURMURATION’!!!
I will be colaboritng with artist Christine Stanford this year engaging visitors to create a sea bird sculpture using paper, fabric, wire and a host of other materials. The sculpture will be big, bold and stunningly beautiful and you can help us make it happen – drop in any time Christine and I will be there 11-3pm Sat & Sun in the sunny Courtyard at the EI – no creative experience necessary just bring enthusiasm.
