Paper, Wire & Stitch Course

During the course Priscilla will take you on a journey of discovery, experimenting and exploring the endless possibilities of working with a lots of different of materials.

The aim of this course is to explore using a mixed media approach enabling your creativity to flow in a variety of new and exciting ways.

You will explore how to colour, paint and wax papers creating a variety of grounds to develop from 2D into 3D using wire, stitch and heat techniques to create a variety of textured surfaces producing a finished piece or range of experimental surfaces.

I’m so delighted to be exhibiting at this years Knits & Stitches so do join me for a full day of Knitting and Stitching heaven in the fabulous Coronation Hall. There will be quality stall holders from across the region bringing advice and supplies to create your next project. There will also be sales of beautifully hand crafted items.  There will be displays of lovingly created items from local groups to whet your crafting appetite. Mixed Media Sculpture Course

Wednesdays 18th September – 16th October

 1.30 – 4.00pm

£79 per person (5 weeks)

Explore the vast possibilities of working with lightweight wire to create small-scale 3D sculptures. Discover how to manipulate wire-using pliers to make structures that can be developed using other materials including fabric, wax, and paint.

Priscilla will share with you the creative techniques developed through her own experimentations and making. Inspired by whatever theme you wish you will explore a variety of materials including wire, wax, and silk to create structures that can be embellish with paper, buttons, beads and found ephemera. Priscilla will support you through the processes and techniques encouraging you to develop personal work.

The course fee includes starter pack of materials – materials are then available to buy at cost from tutor.

Book of Birds & Flowers Workshop

Thursday 10th Oct 10.30 – 4:00 pm

You will create a garden of decorative sculptural flowers and birds using wire, fabric, paper and paint. Then arrange your collection and add them to a vintage book base creating a stunning garden of flowers that lasts forever. They can be decorated however you wish using trimmings, buttons and hand-stitch. All abilities welcome and materials provided, just bring an unwanted book!

Curious Creatures

 

Saturday 10th August 10-4pm

Create your very own fairy-tail creature using found materials. During the workshop you will explore the possibilities of making objects that are assembled using ephemera, fabrics, wire, found oddments anything that you wish to work with, that has meaning and childhood memories for you. Priscilla uses these themes in here own work and will take you on a journey to create yours.  Materials and equipment will be provided but you should bring with you a small collection of your own precious fabrics, ephemera, papers, broken china or toys.
